Brisbane Pontoon - the day after the 41st Sketchcrawl!

We passed this pontoon during the return ferry ride back to the Riverside ferry terminal, after the 41st Sketchcrawl in Brisbane.

I love cranes, building construction sites and bridges etc especially when it's evolving and growing.

On the Sunday, after visiting the Chouquette bakery in New Farm, I sketched the pontoon from the Wilson Outlook Reserve. It looks like they are turning it into a small park and walkway (here) but I would love it if they turned into an area like Vancouver's Granville Island Public Market (under the Granville Bridge).

My sketches from the Sketchcrawl are

Paper: Moleskine Watercolour A4
Tools: Watercolour, pencil, date stamp

  1. That is pretty cool that a crane would be able to sit on a pontoon. Those things seems like they can hold a lot of weight without sinking. My uncle has one for docking his boat.
