Cockatoo Island

In Cockatoo Island, we had a pretty rainy day which didn't want to let us sketch. In a little shelter for the cars, some of us could refugee from the wind and rain. From there, I sketched this perspective trying to capture the contrasting materials of the old sandstone building and the more recent warehouses in top of it.

After lunch, I made my way inside the purple warehouse that appears in the right top corner of the first perspective. I passed some fences an found this this piece of machinery.

Looking forward to the next UrbanSketchers meeting.

Current Tools

I wanted to share some  of the main gear I have been using lately for my sketches. When doing quick sketches or doodling, I like to use the Pilot C4, Jumbo Triplus or any other kind of pencil. In my watercolors, I have been using lately the Micron with Van Gogh watercolors, sometime with previous auxiliar lines or sketch in pencil.

Pilot G-Tec C4 0.4 (0.2 mm)
Recommended. Non waterproof.

Micron 0.05 mm (SAKURA)
Waterproof.

Jumbo Triplus.
A thicker pencil than usual, that gives you a good line when properly sharpened.

Pentel brush.
Refillable water.

Van Gogh Pocket Box Original

I lost my previous watercolors and got this ones shipped from Spain, which are a little bit dirty at the moment. Is is a basic set of 15 exchangeable watercolors.

I usually use a piece of paper of the similar kind of the one I am going to sketch, so I can actually see how the color is going to look.

Australia 2012

I arrived to Australia on July of 2012. Since then, I have been wondering around different places with my sketchbook and watercolors. Here are some of the sketches.

Hello, UrbanSketchers!

Hello everyone!

First of all, I would like to
thank Liz Steel and Luis Ruiz for introducing me to UrbanSketchers.

Here, you can see some of my previous sketches in the last years and some of the tools I have been using in my sketches lately. I will soon post a couple of sketches from the last UrbanSketchers event in Cockatoo Island.
