Solo sketch on Cockatoo ISland

It was fun to do a solo trip to Cockatoo Island. One pencil, one moleskin. Got there early. Perfect weather. In the zone. Trying some new techniques which I am really enjoying. Good to be back in THAT sketch zone.

The Teacher

This is 'sort of' Peter McBride who is a WHS teacher. I had to do a course on Working at Heights because occasionally I have to photograph on building sites and the laws are very strict now.
This was sketched in the first 5 minutes in a outside environment. A little glare and I took this pic with my phone so please excuse the lack of reproduction quality. The course soon turned to be very interesting and quickly finished. Biro on bond.

Garden Thoughts

There is this vision in my head that I had to get out onto paper ... but this wasn't the vision. I have a pre fix on Terracotta. It will go ... and come again. I am looking forward to my new palette of paints arriving. These paints here are a collection I got of cheap run outs ages ago. The lid would hardly come off a few.
Garden Thoughts
Then yesterday I found myself in a neighbours garden doing a sketch across the full Moleskin spread. Not confident with colours. Need some basic tuition here. Can anyone suggest a DVD series or YouTube link ????

Tulips-Coffee-Candle

I've been sketch slack lately.
Things will change...
Next week I am going to FNQ sketching for a week.
This is a very old silver coffee pot holding some very fresh Tulips.
The candle is not in the wind

Beach Chat Mollymook Australia

Summer time in Australia. Holiday time and everyone (most anyway) gets to the beach at some time. Standard procedure is a good catch up and chat on the beach. Quintessential Australian.

A Christmas Sketcher

Cutting Liz's head off! Liz and bear were actively sketching at the Sydney Sketch club meet up in Martin Place so I took some time to practice my people sketching. Maintaining proportion there was no paper left !
It was a great sketch day ... not too hot or cold and lots of sketchers to swap ideas with. Merry Christmas!
