Hi Everyone. I've only posted here once before, but I'll make sure I'll bless you with my drawings more often. Here are a couple of drawings at a beach in Bunbury (WA) called Koombana Bay. I was taking my son there for swimming lessons, and was able to get some sketches in. It's great to see beach sketches from other members. I hope everyone is enjoying this time and getting a lot of sketching done.

    1. Thanks Liz. I'll post more of the recent Koombana Bay ones a bit later. It's great seeing the variety of work people are posting. Sydney Sketch Club sounds like it would be fun, it's a tad too far away.

Lovely sketches. I like your watercoloured one very much. Vivid colour and cheerful mood! Nice work!

    1. Hi Sadami. Thanks. I need to work more with watercolours to be more confident with it like you are. I've been thinking about paying more attention to the ocean and waves - so I'm very interested in your watercolours of waves. Very well done. Did you paint many wave images last year?

  3. Hi,Andrea,
Thank you for compliments. But please "Be what you are," which is very, very important. Work on your style.
Yes, I painted lots. When you click "sea" in my blog, they will come up. In it, you'll find how I've learned it. Let us enjoy sketching together in 2012!
    Best wishes, Sadami

    1. Yes Sadami - virtual sketching together in 2012. Don't worry, it's not in my nature to adopt a style, let alone the style of anyone else. I meant that because I rarely use watercolour, I am not as confident in the medium as you are. I recently took photo's of waves so I could paint from the photo's and gain greater understanding of the visual nature of waves. It's nice to see the work of other people who have done this.

  5. lovely - both of them. I love what you have captured in the "quick sketch"(was it that quick?) .

You have had some hot weather in WA and the beach would be a lovely place to be.
I use water colour pencils and have only tried waves a few times. Even when I was drawing from a photo, I felt like I was going cross-eyed trying to figure out which bit of white cappped waves I was drawing .
Looking forward to more sketches from you!

    1. Hi Alissa, they are drawn quickly. When it works it really works, when it doesn't, it's a mess. But it's fun. Though the parents in the watercolour sketch weren't moving around much.

This Summer, so far, has been mild (and wonderfully wet) compared to previous stinking hot, dry Summers of past years. They weren't fun.
